As NFL training camps open across the country, Matt Lombardo and Mike Tanier, dive into some of the biggest storylines across the league, including Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys’ baffling handling of star edge rusher Micah Parsons’ long-term contract negotiations.
“Just because we sign [Parsons] doesn’t mean we’re going to have him. He was hurt six games last year. Seriously,” Jones told reporters, incorrectly, as Parsons missed four games last season. “I remember signing a player for the highest paid at the position in the league and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year — Dak Prescott. So there’s a lot of things you can think about, just as the player does, when you’re thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.”
Jones’ comments have the potential not just to sour any ongoing talks with Parsons but to torpedo the Cowboys’ season.
Meanwhile, NFL wide receiver Jordan Matthews joins the show to lend his insight on the Eagles’ offense’s ability to take the next step, how Ashton Jeanty fits Chip Kelly’s Las Vegas Raiders offense, and reveals his top players at the position across the league.
