NFL Draft 2025 Big Board: The Top-10 Offensive Prospects, With Insight from Coaches and Executives across the league
The NFL Draft is screaming down the tracks, set to get underway on April 24, which means teams are putting the finishing touches on their boards, getting last looks at the top prospects via visits and private workouts, and our draft coverage is about to level-up.
Over the next two weeks, we will be releasing my top offensive and defensive prospects, some in-depth profiles of some of the top players to watch, and my lone mock draft of the season over the next 10 days leading up to draft night. Buckle in.
Today, the offensive playmakers take center stage, with my top-10 offensive prospects in this year’s class, including a scouting thumbnail on each player from my conversations with executives, coaches, and scouts across the NFL.
1. Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Ashton Jeanty isn’t just the most electrifying prospect in this year’s class, he’s also one of the most productive from a yardage standpoint, with the versatility of chewing up yards out of the backfield and as a reliable option in the passing game.
Jeanty’s explosiveness pops off film, but it’s what happens when he reaches the second level that makes him special; elite spin moves, the ability to jump-cut on a dime, and his ability to shift into a higher gear after making people miss are jaw-dropping.
Tailor-made for any scheme, as Pro Football Focus points out, Jeanty posted elite 96.6, 93.7, and 92.1 running-game, zone, and gap reads, respectively. Jeanty led the nation with 36 carries of 15-plus yards, 152 forced missed tackles, and 1,970 yards after contact, underscoring his ability to walk into any situation and make the offense better.
In an era where Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Josh Jacobs each have reignited the value of running backs in effective offenses, Jeanty has the tools and potential to make a significant immediate impact.
AFC Personnel Executive: “He’s an excellent player, compact runner with a low center of gravity. I see a lot of Josh Jacobs. Taking him with a top-10 pick might be a little rich in today’s game, but I think you throw some of that out with him.”
