In a lot of ways, Sunday’s victory over the New York Giants was an embodiment of how the Philadelphia Eagles expected the offense to operate, when firing on all cylinders, despite A.J. Brown being the only wide receiver to tally a single receiving yard.
Still, Philadelphia doubled down on Saquon Barkley and the ground attack, with the former No. 2 overall pick running roughshod over his former team for 176 yards and a touchdown, on 17 carries, before turning down an opportunity from Nick Sirianni in the fourth quarter to remain in the game and chase his career-high, insisting instead that younger players get the snaps.
I asked a veteran scout for one of the Eagles’ NFC rivals how he expects Philadelphia’s offense to take shape over the second half of the season, and he says he expects Moore to adopt a bit of a chameleon mentality.
