Odell Beckham Jr. Cashes in | NFL Content Roundup
One of the most explosive offenses in the league just got deeper
Odell Beckham’s destination for the 2024 campaign has finally been revealed, after months of negotiations with the Miami Dolphins, one of the most explosive offenses in the league just got deeper.
Beckham Jr. lands in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s supporting cast alongside dynamic receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle for a one-year deal worth up to $8.5 million, but, as Pro Football Talk reports, the deal is a $3 million pact with $5.5 million incentives.
Still, that’s an impressive pay-day for the 31-year-old fresh off a 565-yard and three-touchdown campaign alongside Zay Flowers on the receiving end of passes from Lamar Jackson, averaging a whopping 16.5 yards per reception.
Beckham Jr. is no longer the game-altering weapon he once was in New York, or even as an integral piece of the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl run that culminated with his torn ACL suffered in the first half of the Rams’ victory over the Bengals.
However, the Dolphins’ offense is a track meet, with speed all over the field, and Beckham still can rattle off his share of explosive plays, as illustrated by his 4.5 yards after the catch per reception average.
Miami seems determined to beat teams 41-38. While Beckham isn’t a focal point, he should benefit from Hill and Waddle’s abilities to legitimately take the top off opposing secondaries, creating big play after the catch opportunities.
