Tennessee Titans Land One of Offseason's Biggest Fish | Weekly NFL Content Roundup
The Tennessee Titans late Friday night added the premier defensive playmaker available this offseason, acquiring shutdown cornerback L’Jarius Sneed from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and swapping seventh-round selections in this year’s draft.
Kansas City, after applying the franchise tag to extend the window to get something in return for Sneed, adds $19.8 million in cap space. The Chiefs were never going to be able to keep both Sneed and future Hall of Fame defensive lineman Chris Jones.
Meanwhile, the Titans get a centerpiece of their defense capable of elevating the entire trajectory of the franchise.
Snead didn’t allow a passing touchdown until the AFC Divisional Playoff Game against the Buffalo Bills and held opposing quarterbacks to a meager 55.9 passer rating when throwing his direction.
In Tennessee, Snead is a worthy counterpunch to the ascending young quarterbacks C.J. Stroud, Trevor Lawrence, and Anthony Richardson in the AFC South and he’ll become a key piece to the Titans competing for the division crown in 2024 and beyond.
